People of the 02536 it is with a heavy heart that I will expose an ugly truth to you here today. It seems that someone has launched a pre-emptive strike against the 02536 and its internet interests. It has become evident that urbandictionary.com has been infiltrated and filled with 02536 hate.

For those of you who do not know of the Urban Dictionary, it is a website where the users create the content, for instance if you know of a slang word (or any word) that is not defined on the site, you can write a definition and submit it for review. It is like wikipedia, just for words.

Anyway, while spelunking the depths of the great cave known as the information superhighway, we came across the definition of Falmouth on urbandictionary.com. We regret to inform you that it does not paint the 02536 in a positive light. You can click here and read the first two definitions (the others don’t mention 02536) or we have copy and pasted some of the more heinous parts below:

“5 different sections of town: west falmouth; rich as hell, north falmouth; just as rich, woods hole; buncha weirdos, teaticket; strait hood, east falmouth; gangsta/ghetto”

Alright we can live with that, but it’s borderline, we call ourselves ghetto, but we don’t like others doing it.

“The majority of crime happens in east falmouth and teaticket sections of town.”

“There are a few gangs still existing, the depleted BRP, (the barrows road posse) the BLVD, (the boulavard) Seacoase killas, and the HH heavy hitters”

Whoa! hey now let’s settle down here. They’re making it sound a little worse than it is no? See this is what the people of West Falmouth will never understand. When you are growing up and everyone is always telling you that you are from the ghetto, and they just assume you’re in a gang because of your address, it wears on you after a while.

Now we don’t know about you but we here at the go2536 don’t just sit here and type. We go out and we take action. Our manifesto is not a bunch of hot air, we are actually out there getting our hands dirty working towards getting the 02536 it’s due. How? We’re glad you asked. Luckily the evil doers have not yet taken the time to define the word East Falmouth at urbandictionary.com, so guess what? We took the liberty of doing it ourselves.
